Fightlab sponsored welterweight mma fighter Paul "Semtex" Daley will throw heavy hands against former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title contender Rory MacDonald at the SSE Arena in London, England on May 19, 2017 for Bellator 179 five-round main event that would place the winner for a possible title contention.
Both fighters met at the Bellator 179 press conference and had a quick interview with media.
Daley (39-14-2), who’s piled several brutal finishes in any mixed martial arts (MMA) organization has more wins by knockout (29) than other pro fighters have in total fights.
“Semtex” was last seen stiffening Brennan Ward at Bellator 170 with a highlight reel Flying Knee KO.
MacDonald (18-4) failed to sign a new deal with UFC after back-to-back losses to ex WW Champ Robbie Lawler and now WW title contender Stephen Wonderboy Thompson. “Red King” is still one of the top mma welterweights in the world, boasting wins over UFC champion Tyron Woodley and WW contender Demian Maia.
MacDonald was not amused with Paul Daley's callout at Bellator 170 and has yet been knocked out in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career by competing with some of the hardest hitters the at UFC's WW division such as Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, and Stephen Thompson.
Although Macdonald may be indestructible in the octagon, Fightlab's athlete Paul "Semtex" Daley does have the technical skills and power to KO Macdonald, as evidenced by his last fight over Ward.
